Hello World!
Hi, I'm Jacob Walker. I'm a Private First Class (PFC) in the U.S. Army, serving in the Fire Direction Center (FDC). It's a role where precision matters, coordination is everything, and every calculation counts.
Outside of uniform, I switch gears into my other world—tech. Whether it's coding, diving into sci-fi, building projects, or learning something new in computer science, I'm always exploring ways to bridge my passion for problem-solving with creativity.
This blog is where both sides of my life come together. From day-to-day military moments to tech deep-dives, it's all here—unfiltered, real, and evolving. Thanks for stopping by.
Why I Started This Blog
A lot of people ask what it's like balancing military life with an interest in technology. Truth is, the two worlds have more in common than you'd think. Both require discipline, adaptability, and the ability to think a few steps ahead.
I started this blog because I needed a space to reflect, build, and share. Whether it's a review of gear I actually use in the field, coding projects I’m tinkering with on the weekends, or just some honest thoughts on life in uniform—I wanted to keep it all in one place.
What to Expect
Here’s a glimpse of what you'll find here:
- Army Insights: Honest takes on life as a PFC in the FDC, the mental grind, and small victories.
- Tech Projects: From scripting automation to building custom setups and dashboards.
- Learning Logs: As I chase a future in computer science, I’ll be dropping what I learn along the way—from basic JavaScript to Linux system hacks.
